Drama Materials Needed!
The middle school drama department is hard at work preparing our production of Seussical Jr. To defray costs, we are putting out a school-wide call for items to use in the play. We are looking for:
Pool noodles (new and used), feathers, feather boas, large cardboard boxes (appliance size), paint (all colors- brighter the better), tulle (all colors), tutus (all colors), and things of Dr. Seuss like Horton ears, Cat in the Hat hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts, etc.
If you want items returned after the production, please permanently label things with your name. Please understand that items might come back to you showing signs of wear and tear. Items should be left in the front office by the end of this month (January 30).
Thank you in advance for you help!
Rachel Thompson and Diane Ledford.
Read for Life Book Drive!
For more than twenty years Read for Life has been giving books to families in need, as well as, educating parents and caregivers on the importance of reading to their children. Our "Books for Kids" program places "gently used" books in homeless shelters, health clinics, and other crisis centers throughout Tulare County. Please drop off books in the drop off box placed in front of the school office. Keira Bixler will then clean and give the books to the Read for Life organization.
WE ARE ALWAYS NEEDING BOOKS! Books outgrown by their first owner can be a treasure to another child. Our target age is birth to 7 years, but we'll find homes for all children's books. Read for Life is committed to breaking the cycle of illiteracy in Tulare County.
In 2014, Read for Life volunteers delivered over 13,780 books to over 44 locations throughout Tulare County. Every month we replenish these locations with books because the children are encouraged to take a book home.
