Ways To Give
The Parents' Guild is responsible for raising funds to support the education of our students while, at the same time promoting fun and fellowship among our school community: families, students, administration and faculty.
The Annual Fund is an essential component of our fundraising program. It bridges the financial gap between tuition and the full cost of a St. Paul’s education. Contributions to the Annual Fund directly support the school’s operating budget for: small classes, exceptional faculty, faculty and staff professional development and competitive compensation, inspiring academic programs, upkeep of our beautiful campus, and depth of programming.
A gift of cash is the simplest and most popular way to give. For income tax purposes, you may declare the full amount as a charitable gift deduction. While St. Paul’s prefers unrestricted gifts, we would be happy to discuss your preferred designation to any fund or purpose that supports our program, relieves the operating budget, supports the Strategic Plan, or advances our mission.
The majority of gifts made to the Annual Fund come in the form of cash or check. A gift of cash receives the most generous federal income tax deduction available for charitable contributions. Gifts or pledge payments can be made online by credit card or mailed directly to the school.
Checks are payable to St. Paul’s School and sent to:

Use the memo field to designate the fund (Annual Fund, Endowment Fund) to which your gift will be given.
Endowment giving provides an income stream that serves a number of donor-designated purposes. Our endowment fund was created by exceptionally generous donors along with the Board of Trustees who specify that these gifts are to be invested and only the income earned on these gifts may be spent for a specific purpose. The gift amount is referred to as the principal or corpus and is held in a fund that is managed by the Finance committee. Our endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding.
If your employer recognizes the importance of supporting your charitable giving with a matching gift plan, you can double or even triple your gift to St. Paul’s. You may obtain information about the matching gift program from your company's human resources office.
Matching gift forms can be mailed to:
St. Paul’s School
6101 West Goshen Ave.
Visalia, CA 93291
Gifts-in-Kind (GIKs) come in the form of equipment, instruments, supplies, etc. They often make a special difference in the classroom, to a team or to a school event. In addition to expressions of gratitude, these non-cash gifts can earn tax credit and may be receipted for the donor's tax records. Once value is provided by the donor, we will send a receipt and an acknowledgement, and we will record the gift at face value.
Planned Giving/Memorial Tribute Fund
Provide an opportunity for the donor to support the school through a deferred gift. Bequests, trusts, life insurance and retirement funds are several planned gift possibilities. The Memorial and Tribute Fund is a way to honor a loved one who has passed or to pay tribute to someone on their birthday, or for a job well done.
You may give a home, farm, or other real estate to St. Paul’s. You will receive an immediate income tax deduction based on the full market value of the property – determined by a qualified appraiser – at the time of the gift. You may give a home and retain lifetime occupancy.
St. Paul’s uses a Gift Acceptance Policy to guide the receipt of the gift. Please contact the Administration Office for more information.
Gifts of Stock
You can make a gift of appreciated stock that you have owned for more than one year. You will receive an immediate income tax deduction for the fair market value on the date of transfer. You make a charitable donation and pay no capital gains tax. You must notify our Administrative Office of the transfer so that we will be properly notified of the transaction and of the designated fund.
-SCRIP and Similar Programs
Here's how Scrip works
Stop by the school's business office to purchase your Scrip gift cards at face value. St. Paul’s School works with local and online retailers directly and through a professional scrip company to purchase gift certificates or gift cards (referred to as scrip) at a discount. The difference in price is kept by St. Paul’s as fundraising dollars earned. Families can apply 100% of the money they spend on scrip toward their annual scrip obligation.
Parents use the scrip at the retailer just like cash.
This school-wide, ongoing fundraiser provides a way for our parents and supportive community to spend money on things they already want and need – while simultaneously benefiting our school! Our scrip program offers cards from places that you already shop, such as grocery stores, retail stores, restaurants, and many more. This program is run by our Business Office.
Save Mart Shares Program
Each year, Save Mart Supermarkets donate over $5 million and thousands of tons of food in support of the communities we serve.

Benefit is a mobile app that allows you to purchase digital gift cards and instantly redeem them online or in-store. A percentage of everything you spend is calculated, and each month an electronic check goes out to the cause of your choice.
To get started download the free app, set a security password, select your form of payment (Credit Card or Bank Account), and select St. Paul's School as the beneficiary. Then start by using Benefit as you shop for everyday needs. Make it a habit!
Do you have a Starbucks habit like me? Did you know you could earn $1.25 (5%) for our school for every $25 spent at Starbucks? Right about now you're probably thinking, but I can't remember to buy SCRIP in the office. You don't have to!!! A new app for your phone called Benefit allows you to buy gift cards on demand as needed! Can you imagine if all 265 St. Paul's families utilized this product to purchase needed goods? The multiplication effect would be substantial! Let's just say 265 families spend on average $10 week at Starbucks on their Benefit app. That would result in approximately $6,900 in fundraising just for getting our caffeine fix! But Benefit is so much more than Starbucks. There are hundreds of national retailers, restaurants, hotels, and even airlines that participate! You could even purchase your entire summer vacation through Benefit!
Lastly, by using Benefit you can track your personal fundraising as well as the fundraising of the entire St. Paul's Community!
If you have any questions or need assistance to get started, please contact Jennifer Peltzer in the school office.
