GAPP German Exchange Program
St. Paul's School is proud to be part of the German American Partnership Program (GAPP; goethe.de/gapp). GAPP is a well-known non-profit organization that was founded in 1972; it is sponsored by the German Federal Foreign Office and the U.S. Department of State.
Every year in September, St. Paul's School welcomes roughly 15 students from the Dr.-Auguste-Kirchner Realschule (https://www.realschule-hassfurt.de/) in Germany. Those students stay with host families and visit the school for two weeks. SPS 8th graders then reciprocate the exchange and travel to Germany for two weeks staying with host families and visiting the German school as well.
The GAPP coordinator of St. Paul's School is Lea Maryanow and the GAPP coordinator of Dr.-Auguste-Kirchner Realschule is Julia Schneider. Both coordinators follow the GAPP's teacher guide when organizing this exchange (https://www.goethe.de/resources/files/pdf294/022123-gapp-teachers-guide-ab.pdf).
